Counselors

Tai Yong

Tai grew up in Taiwan and Malaysia. He received his higher education in New Zealand and the United States. His first career was as an Electrical Engineer. During this first career of almost 30 years he attended Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated with a Masters in Counseling in 2002. Since then he has been practicing counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri.

From 2006 to 2009, Tai volunteered at St. Louis Christian Chinese Service Community Center and held marriage seminars for many local churches and organizations. In 2008, he joined Agape Christian Counseling Services, a private practice, and worked with many individuals and couples from all walks of life. He incorporates concepts and techniques from different therapies to help his clients face challenges in their current life. He also has a particular interest in helping people resolve deeply entrenched fears and pains caused by traumas or events in their past. His goal is always to assist people to achieve real, positive, and sustained change.

Tai and his wife of 40 years moved to Taiwan in 2015 with the hope of supporting and helping missionaries, churches, and people in Taiwan. They have two grown children.

Terri Hewitt

Terri grew up in Southern California and graduated with her B.A. in Psychology in 1989 from the University of California Santa Barbara. For the past 20 years she has been working and ministering in Kyrygzstan, Taiwan and East Asia and speaks both Kyrgyz and Chinese quite fluently.

Terri is zealous about inductive Bible studies and seeing the Truth of God’s Word bring people to Himself, as well as, transforming their lives. She is also passionate about inner healing counseling and prayer. She has worked for the past five years in East Asia with a ministry focused on bringing inner healing both emotionally and spiritually from bondage to sin, shame and lies, as well as healing from past wounds.

By presenting the Truth of God’s Word to help identify lies people believe about themselves, God, and their relationship with Him, her desire is to help people to know how to replace lies with truth; run to God to have their deepest longings met; and do spiritual battle to be released from lies and strongholds in their lives. Freedom, victory, and power through His Word and Spirit is available to each individual.

Deborah Su

Deborah grew up in Taiwan. She obtained her Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and graduated in 2014. From 2012-2014, she volunteered to help and led the community service of single mothers’ ministry at Liberty University. She had her internship with Pastoral Care Service at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia. From 2015-2016, she had her Optional Practical Training at Calvary Counseling Center in Manassas, Virginia. After she came back to Taiwan, she worked as a life coach with children at Kids’ Alive in Taitung. Since August of 2018, she started her ministry at CCG. She is interested in helping children, adolescents, and individuals with emotional and behavioral struggles to express their hidden feelings and thoughts through verbal and non-verbal communication, such as arts and play. Also, she has the heart to use CBT and Christian truths to strengthen individuals’ inner-voice of truth about themselves, others, and God.
